The sound of the drum is back! Uganda football governing body regional tournament FUFA Drum action returns on 30 of July 2022.
The third edition of the heritage games have been on a forced halt following the nation’s lockdown which stretched for almost two years.
“We took a break as you all know because of COVID, and one of the reasons why we were not able to play in any other format as other competitions were, is that the hallmark of The FUFA Drum is the passion of the fans,” organising committee head Rogers Byamukama noted.
This time around, the ladies version will be on the cards but unlike the men’s home and away knockout affair on aggregate, one venue will be used for them.
Njeru Technical centre will host the women’s version but plans of having games traverse all regions is in the plan come next season.
The ladies are camped in two groups; A having Buganda, Eastern, Northern and Western while B has Kampala, Kitara, North East and West Nile.
