Uganda’s U17 Men’s National Football Team, the Cubs, has been summoned ahead of the CECAFA U17 Zonal Qualifiers set for November 15 to December 4, 2025, in Ethiopia.
The tournament will mark the first major test for the Cubs’ new technical team led by Ghanaian coach Laryea Kingston.
Joining him is former Uganda Cranes midfielder Steven Bengo as assistant coach, bringing valuable experience and creativity to the setup.
Saddam Ibrahim Juma will also serve on the coaching staff, while KCCA FC’s Yasin Mugabi takes charge of the goalkeepers.
The backroom team includes familiar local football figures: Joram Katende (Team Manager), Vincent Tumusiime “Titi Camara” (Team Coordinator), Patrick Ssenfuka (Kit Manager), Innocent Jejje (Team Doctor), Rashid Kebba (Physiotherapist), and Aloysious Byamukama (Media Officer).
Uganda, the defending CECAFA champions, will aim to retain their regional title and secure a top-three finish to qualify for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
