The FUFA Women Super League returns this weekend with matchday three after the international break, with three games to be played on Saturday morning.

She Maroons Target To Stop Perfect Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC

Unbeaten She Maroons will be looking to stop table leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC when the two teams face off in Luzira.

Kawempe is the only team that has won all two of their opening games, beating Rines 3-2 and UCU Lady Cardinals 1-0, while She Maroons edged Asubo Ladies 5-0 and shared spoils with Wakiso Hill WFC in a 1-1 draw in their previous fixture.

The last time the two teams met in Luzira was in the 2021/22 season, and Kawempe defeated She Maroons 2-0 thanks to goals from Aisha Nantongo and Phiona Nabbulime.

What the Coaches Said Prior to the Game

Simon Peter Ocuka – Head Coach, She Maroons

“We have had enough preparations and I believe my girls will deliver. The girls who were at the senior national team conducted the last trainings and they’re ready to face the opponents.”

“Kawempe is a big team and have won all their games so far, but I’m pretty sure that we’re going to win the game.”

Moses Nkata – Assistant Coach, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC

“We always work to improve in every game and that means we must win each game unless it doesn’t go our way. The girls who have been with the U20 women’s national team are back and ready to help the team to win the game.”

Unbeaten Lady Doves Hosts Committed Uganda Martyrs

The 2020/21 champions, Lady Doves, will be playing their first home game as they host Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC at Katusabe Grounds in Masindi.

Uganda Martyrs lost 2-1 to Kampala Queens in the opening game and bounced back with a comfortable 3-0 win over Rines SS WFC, while Lady Doves held UCU Lady Cardinals in a goalless draw in Mukono and defeated Asubo 4-1 in their latest game.

In the last four league meetings, Uganda Martyrs have won three and lost one, and they have scored 10 goals and conceded seven.

However, Lady Doves’ only win came last season and at home when they came from behind to beat the Kiddawalimes 3-2.

Wakiso Hill WFC, Asubo Ladies FC Hunt First League Win

Two winless sides meet at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende. Wakiso Hill came from behind to force a 1-1 draw with She Maroons in their last game to earn their first ever top-flight league point thanks to Slyvia Namiwanda‘s late strike.

Asubo Ladies have had a terrible start this season, losing all their two opening league fixtures, conceding nine goals and scoring only one goal, and they sit at the bottom of the table.

Stepahine’s ladies will be seeking to register their first league win and hand Wakiso Hill their second consecutive home loss after losing 1-0 to She Makerere in the opening game.
