Uganda’s reigning women’s NBL Champions, JKL Dolphins, on Friday evening, fell 74-53 to Kenya Ports Authority Dockers in the semi-finals of the 2023 FIBA Zone V Women’s Championship.

The two had earlier met in the group stages, with JKL still on the losing side, losing 72-82.

The loss means that Uganda’s JKL Dolphins will have to win the third-place playoff to qualify for the 2023 FIBA Africa Women’s Championships.

In the third-place playoff, JKL will come up against Kenya’s Equity Bankers, who lost 76-61 to Rwanda’s REG (Rwanda Energy Group BBC)

The top three teams will secure qualification for the 2023 FIBA Africa Women Championships, set to happen in Egypt from December 8 to 17.
