The national basketball women’s team, the Gazelles, took the final shape after head coach Alberto Antuna trimmed the squad to 12 ahead of the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket.
The team has been high on preparations at the Africa Bible Institute, Lubowa for the past two weeks.
Players have been joining in respective clusters given the demands at their clubs, and US based Jannon Otto was the last one to link up with the rest on Saturday.
The final team includes captain Flavia Oketcho, Jannon Otto, Hope Akello, Rita Imanishimwe, Lydia Babirye and Evelyn Nakiyingi.
Others are Maria Najjuma, Brenda Ekon, Melissa Akullu, Claire Lamunu, Abby Priscilla, while Jane Asinde completes the roaster.
Each of Otto, Asinde, Abby, Babirye, Akullu, Lamunu and Najjuma play from beyond borders while the remaining quintet is home-based.
The team is set to enter full-time camp on Sunday, with the tournament less than two weeks away as its slated to kickstart on July 28 to August 6.
Uganda is pitted in Group C along with record champions Senegal and another West African side, Mali.
