After a three-week break that saw the reviewing of the first round of the local hockey league, the action returns this weekend with the second round of the Uganda Cup.
Six games in the Men’s division have been lined up with the first legs taking place on Saturday and the return legs on Sunday.
Defending champions Wananchi will get the day started on Saturday. They will be up against KHC Originals in their first leg at 1pm at the Hockey grounds in Lugogo.
Wananchi who dismantled Titans 19-0 in the first round will look to ease past their round two opponents. KHC Originals are only at this stage owing to their best losers status.
The side lost to the Rockets in the first round, but because they lost by an inferior goal difference (7-3), they secured a place in the second round as the best losers.
Weatherhead will face Makerere Stingers on the same day at 2:30 pm. Weatherhead crushed City Lions 11-2 in the opening round. They face the Stingers who beat the Badgers 5-1 in that round.
Kampala Hockey Club who beat Thunder 10-2 will then wrap up the day against Rockets at 4 pm. The return legs will be played on Sunday at the same ground.
