After a tumultuous day one in Dubai, the Lady Cranes mastered a win from their last group stages game on Saturday morning and secured the last slot in the quarterfinals as the 2nd best third-placed team.

The Lady Cranes beat up Papua New Guinea, winning 24-17 thanks to tries from skipper Peace Lekuru and hard runner Grace Nabaggala. The ladies registered a brace each.

On day 1, the Lady Cranes were on the wrong end of the scoreboard twice, losing 14-05 to Belgium and 19-07 to Thailand.
