Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) coach Haruna Kebba believes his team has what it takes to return to winning ways when they host YMCA Comprehensive Institute in the University Football League on Tuesday in Mbale.

IUIU lost their previous game against MUBS 1-0, but Kebba is confident that his team can rely on the home advantage to secure a victory.

“This competition is always about winning and everyone is gearing up to qualify for the knockout stage,” Kebba said.

“We’re expecting YMCA to come out strong, that is why we’re not leaving any stone unturned and we are not taking anything for granted. We are working hard to see that we counter whatever they come with.”

“Our main goal for the game is to get the three points,” Kebba added.

“If it comes with some bonus of goals it will be advantageous to us, but I think the three points is most important, so that we can get back in the race.”

What the YMCA coach said

YMCA is bottom in group B with one point from two games, but coach Michael Kalyesubula believes that the point they picked up against Victoria University is a good foundation to build on.

“There’s a lot of work ahead of us,” Kalyesubula said.

“We all understand the situation we are in as a team as we have only collected a point so far.”

“I have spoken to the players about the issues at hand and the attitude in the training ground is promising.”

“We’ve been training very hard and the response is quite interesting from the players,” Kalyesubula added.

“I’m happy with their response and their attitude in training and we are hoping that can be transferred onto the match day.”
