Joan Nabirye in as Crested Cranes Name Final Squad to Face Rwanda

The Uganda national women’s football team, the Crested Cranes, have named their final squad to face Rwanda in the first leg of the 2024 Olympic qualifier on Wednesday, July 12th.

The team, which is composed of 24 players, has traveled to Rwanda in the morning today.

FC Minsk midfielder Joan Nabirye left Belarus to join the team in the camp in Rwanda.

A notable absentee is B93 Boldklubben midfielder Phionah Nabbumba who misses out due to injury.

Yesterday, Uganda defeated Tanzania 3-1 in an international friendly game played at the Philip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

The Crested Cranes will play Rwanda on Wednesday 12th July, 2023 at Kigali Pele Stadium in the first leg. The second leg will come four days later in Huye, Rwanda.

The winner on aggregate between Uganda and Rwanda will face Cameroon in the next qualifying stage.
