Sowedi Kawooya, the goalkeeping coach for the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League champions Kampala Queens FC, is in talks with two Tanzanian clubs: JKT Queens and Ceasia Queens.

Kawooya recently visited Tanzania to meet with officials from both clubs.

JKT Queens reportedly offered him a better contract, but Ceasia Queens offered a higher signing bonus. Kawooya is currently back in Uganda and has yet to decide which club to join.

Ugandan coach Mustafah Kayinda previously coached Ceasia Queens, and Ugandan players such as Joanita Ainembabazi and Noame Nagadya have played for the club.

Defender Stella Musibika also joined Ceasia Queens from She Corporate FC this summer.

JKT Queens won their maiden CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers this year, which were held in Uganda.

Kampala Queens won the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League with Kawooya’s goalkeeping department playing a key role.

Daisy Nakaziro, the team’s goalkeeper, was named the league’s best goalkeeper of the season.

Kawooya has previously worked with Mukono High, Ajax Queens, Butambala Ssaza, and Gomba Ssaza.
