On Sunday 14th May 2023, Fufa Women Super League champions Kampala Queens FC launched the club’s membership at the trophy celebration party that was held at Forest Park, Buloba.

It wasn’t an eat, drink and have fun party but also a football business time. The club patron Moses Magogo launched the membership campaign in the line of branding and making the club professional.

“There’s a difference between a club fan and a member and we believe that registering members will take our club to the next level of professionalism and that’s always our target,” Magogo stated.

Singers Spice Diana, Hellen Lokoma and Henry Tigan were among the new members of the club on the event day.

At the same event, Magogo confirmed the European tour for Kampala Queens FC

“I want to confirm that the team will have a European tour during pre-season, we are building players that we want to go and play in top leagues in Europe and if any deal is put on the table we will release the player(s) because it’s our dream to make the stars,” Magogo confirmed.

The club patron also appreciated the entire club for achieving their goal in the previous season and revealed new targets.

“I am very happy and satisfied with achieving our goal of winning the league. We have gone through a lot but we worked tirelessly to achieve it, our target now is to win the Caf champions league Zonal qualifiers and represent East Africa on the continent,” Magogo concluded.

Resty Nanziri who scored 11 league goals when her team won the Fufa Women’s Super League, was voted player’s player of the season.

Box-to-box midfielder Shakirah Mutiibwa was voted the Fan’s Player of the Season. She had a great debut season with Queens of Soccer though she got an injury towards the end of the season.

Goalkeeping Coach Cissy Nakiguba, Captain Zainah Namuleme and midfielder Damali Matama recieved the Platinum award as the longest members of the club. The three have been part of the club since its birth in 2016 to date.

Former Kampala Queens FC captain Fauzia Najjemba who is now playing for Dynamo Moscow WFC in Russia also got the gold award in appreciation for her contribution during her time at the club and the award was picked by her guardian Hakim Lule.

Annet Nakimbugwe a former player and a mother to Kampala Queens midfielder Hasifah Nassuna received a gold award for her contribution to the club’s success.

The club also awarded Mr Paul Lukwago as the fan of the season.

Kampala Queens FC will now focus on preparations for the forthcoming Caf Champions League Cecafa Zonal Qualifiers that will be held in Uganda in August this year.

The winner of the Caf champions league zonal qualifiers will represent East Africa on the continent.

In the previous two editions, Lady Doves finished third in 2021 before She Corporate Fc reached the finals last year. The tournament has been won by the club from the hosting country and this year could be Kampala Queens FC’s year.
