The 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League champions, Kampala Queens FC, have agreed terms with Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC to sign defender Jolly Kobusinge.
Kobusinge, who joined Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC from Tooro Queens last year, will soon be unveiled at Kampala Queens FC.
The left back had a good season with Kawempe Muslim Ladies, with her club being the only team to beat Kampala Queens FC in the league and even in the FUFA Women’s Cup.
Kampala Queens have already signed three players from Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on loan short-term contracts.
Last season’s MVP and top scorer Shakira Nyinagahirwa, Hadijah Nandago, and Samalie Nakacwa are the three players who have crossed from Kawempe Muslim to Kampala Queens, and Kobusinge will become the fourth signing from the same team.
In addition, Kampala Queens FC have already confirmed the signing of Fazila Ikwaput, Catherine Nagadya, and Patience Nabulobi.
The Queens of Soccer are in preparations ahead of the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers, which will be played between 12-30 August this year in Uganda.
The Queens of Soccer were pitted in Group A alongside CBE FC (Ethiopia), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), FAD FC (Djibouti), and Bujja Queens (Burundi).
All Group A games will be played at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
