Thirteen time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have released eight players in their continued bid to build a stronger team for the forthcoming 2022/23 season.

The Lugogo outfit parted ways with strikers; Patrick Kaddu, Erisa Ssekisambu and their 2021/22 league top-scorer Davis Kasirye after deciding against renewing their contracts.

Kaddu’s second stint at the Club has been a brief one.

They also let go of Innocent Wafula, Gift Ali and Joseph Bukenya after the expiry of their respective contracts.

On the other hand, according to the club statement, KCCA has mutually agreed to end their relationship with Yasser Mugerwa and Samson Andrew Kigozi.

However, the former has since denied reaching any agreement with the ‘Kasasiro Boys’ and insists he is still under contract for a further year.

“Regard this as fake news, I haven’t terminated my contract,” Yasser Mugerwa said off his social media platforms.

He added: “I am a graduate who understands what ‘mutually agreed’ means.”

KCCA finished second in the 2021/22 season, 18 points behind leaders Vipers SC who garnered 74 to clinch their fifth championship.
