Simba Rally Team’s young star, Kevin Bebeto has his foot itching to step on the pedal ahead of his Clubman Rally Championship debut at the Lumala @60 Mum @90 Birthday Rally in Mbarara.
Scheduled for January 24th to 26th, this event marks the opening round of what promises to be an electrifying 2025 rallying season and Bebeto is bringing both his A-game and a Subaru Impreza N10 that’s fresh out of the mechanic’s loving arms.
Having turned heads throughout the 2024 Autocross Championship with superb performances in his Toyota RunX 2WD, Bebeto’s leap into the CRC feels like watching a cat graduate to lion status. Except this lion’s got turbo. This move signifies his ambition as he transitions into the competitive CRC class, setting his sights firmly on the 2025 CRC Championship title.

Bebeto will face stiff competition in the CRC class, which features six other determined crews. Among them is Robert Kigundu, widely known as Nkima, who will also be driving a Subaru Impreza N10. Nkima’s experience and aggressive driving style make him a formidable rival.

Walter Kibande and his co-driver Duncan Katumba will add to the challenge in their Subaru Impreza GC8, a proven rally car with a reputation for durability and speed. Kibande’s consistency in the past seasons has earned him a reputation as a tough competitor.
Denis Bahizi, piloting a Subaru Impreza N12, is another driver to watch. His focus and calculated approach to racing often yield impressive results. Adding diversity to the field is Asiimwe Doreen, affectionately known as Nalongo, who will be driving a Toyota FX. As the only female driver in the class, Doreen is determined to prove that she can hold her own against the boys.
Ahmed Katete, alongside his co-driver Sserugga Morgan, will also be vying for supremacy in the CRC class, bringing his own unique flair and strategy to the competition.
For Bebeto, the pressure is on. Transitioning from autocross to CRC is like going from frying eggs to flipping pancakes in a storm it takes guts and perfect timing. But the Simba Rally Team driver seems unfazed. “I’m ready for the competition. The Subaru feels fast, but I’ve been told I need to be careful in Mbarara apparently, the cows don’t know it’s a rally!”
Fans can expect intense action as these drivers battle it out for early championship points. For Bebeto, this debut is not just about competing; it’s about announcing his arrival as a force to be reckoned with in Ugandan rallying.
