Veteran driver Moses Lumala, co-driven by Cedric Buzabo, dedicated his podium finish to rally trainer Maris Neiksans.

Lumalaโ€™s turnaround came after Neiksans questioned his pace: โ€œAfter two stages on Friday, I felt tired. Thought age was catching up. But Maris showed me videos, asked why I drove like I was headed to a wedding!โ€

Lumala reviewed his onboard footage, promised to improve and did. He beat rally winner Hassan Alwi by 8 seconds in the Yasin Nasser stage. โ€œAfter the first service, my times improved.โ€

Encouraged by friends and his team, Lumala pushed for more in the Arthur Ahimbisibwe and Yasin Nasser repeats, securing third overall.

Hassan Alwi won in 1:12:42. Musa Ssegabwe was disqualified for breaching FMU rules, elevating Lumala to second place. Stefano Valeri moved to third.

Other winners: Mansoor Lubega dominated 2WD. KCB crews Oscar Ntambi (4th) and Nasser Mutebi (5th) survived. Haruna Kataza-David Mwesigwa (Subaru Impreza) was most entertaining.

Next up: Western Uganda, Ankole, May 2026.
