Uganda Premier League newbies Kitara FC have parted ways with 16 players as the club prepares for a fresh dawn.

The aforementioned developments are official as they were confirmed on Saturday via the club’s social media platforms.

The most notable and surprising face among the released is midfielder Moses Sseruyide, whose contract apparently ended in June.

He played and impressed in 29 of the 30 games last season and was a pillar in Kitara’s run to winning the FUFA Big League title, earning them entry to the topflight.

The other notable faces, Farouk Katongole and Godfrey Lwesibawa, will also look for new adventures following the overhaul.

Lwesibawa, particularly, is a troubled man, as he was recently suspended by FUFA for alleged match-fixing.

The other players on the list of departures include goalkeeper Kagiri Michael, Ssali Davis, Onono Rogers, Kayondo Ronald and John Wesley Kisakye.

Adibo Samuel, Mwesigwa John Stuart and Kizito Zakayo, Kayondo Henry and Katerega Abasi have all been let go by Kitara.

Kitara has already confirmed Brian Ssenyondo as their new head coach, replacing Sam Ssimbwa, who exited after securing their promotion.
