Fresh from securing entry into the Uganda Premier League, 2022/23 FUFA Big League champions, Kitara FC has gone practical yet again, this time on an even bigger project.

The Royals have commenced the process of building their stadium, located in Butema in Hoima district.

“This is to remind you that after the team qualified for the Uganda Premier League, Kitara FC management has now embarked on  its stadium construction in Butema Hoima district,” said a club statement on their social media platforms.

They have gone ahead to launch a drive that will see fans and well-wishers contribute to the daunting initiative.

“For starters, the club has launched a campaign to raise 30,000 bricks (nine-nine size) with each costing 3200 for the construction of the perimeter wall.”

The plan is for the club to at least have the fence in place in about two months, come June.

Kitara has been hosting their second-tier matches at the Kigaaya Primary School Playgrounds, but will now hope to have their own when the 2023/24 UPL season commences later this year.

They have been an exemplary club over the season, with management revealing gate collections after every home game.

The aforementioned act has earned them crowds and loyal support, which will only be expected to expand come next season.

Kitara was joined by Western region outfit Mbarara City FC and Kampala-based side NEC FC from the Big League, with each of the trio boasting an enviable following.
