FUFA Big League side Lugazi FC have completed the signing of 22-year-old versatile midfielder Akodi Solomon from Calvary FC on a three-year contract with the Lugazi-based side.

Solomon had a productive season with Calvary FC last year, scoring four goals and registering six assists. He helped his side finish ninth in the FUFA Big League table, their first season in the competition.

Lugazi FC are hoping that Solomon can help them achieve their goal of promotion to the Uganda Premier League this season. The club finished fifth in the FUFA Big League last season, just two points outside the promotion places.

Solomon is a welcome addition to the Lugazi FC squad. He is a talented defensive midfielder who can also play in a variety of defensive positions.

The midfielder is excited to join Lugazi FC and is looking forward to playing in front of the club’s fans. He is also determined to help the team achieve its goals.

“I am grateful to Lugazi FC and its ownership for doing everything they could to make me part of this project,” said Solomon.

“I’m happy and excited to join the Pride of Lugazi, and I can’t wait to play in front of our fans and help my team-mates on and off the pitch.”

“The mentality in the Lugazi FC squad is very high and you can feel that,” added Solomon.

“That was one of the reasons why it has been so hard to play against Lugazi recently. The aim is to win trophies and I’m going to give everything to do that for the supporters and everyone at the club.”

Solomon started his career at Naguru Police Soccer Academy before moving to Kampala 4th division side AK47. He also played for Big League side Ndejje University for two seasons, scoring six goals and assisting five times before switching to Calvary FC.

Lugazi FC are confident that Solomon will be a valuable asset to the team. The club is hoping that he can help them achieve their goal of promotion to the Uganda Premier League this season.
