This Friday, November 29, 2024, Maroons FC hosts BUL FC at Luzira Prisons Stadium on Uganda Premier League Matchday 10.

A win for Maroons would propel them to 4th place on the table, a major leap from their current 7th position, bringing them within striking distance of league leaders KCCA, Vipers, and NEC.

For Maroons, this match is not just about the points — it’s about breaking a six-year winless streak against BUL. Despite their rich football history, Maroons have struggled to overcome the Jinja-based side, failing to win in their last eight meetings. However, with the recent form showing promise, the team is eager to make history.

Maroons have been on an upward trajectory, securing vital wins against Bright Stars and URA. Their goalkeeper Simon Tamale has been exceptional, managing four clean sheets in seven appearances this season. Upfront, Baden Ogama leads the scoring charts with four goals, followed by Jackson Nunda and Brian Omirambe, who have netted twice each.

The midfield dynamism of Ronald Orombi, Ivan Asaba and Abel Etrude will be influential in unlocking BUL’s defense.

While defenders Apollo Kagogwe and Basoga have returned to full training, providing much-needed defensive reinforcements, key players like Jackson Nunda and Godfrey Kitagenda remain sidelined. Additionally, attacking midfielder Darius Ojok continues his recovery from surgery, training individually as part of his rehabilitation program.

Coach Mohammad Senfuma will look to rally his deep squad, relying on the defensive solidity of Edward Kabona, Frederick Kigozi and Borris Onegi, alongside the attacking flair of Ivan Mayanja, Baden Ogama and Rodgers Kiwanuka among others.

BUL FC, currently 5th on the table, remains a formidable opponent. Known for their consistency, they’ve secured important wins against Kitara and URA while maintaining their composure with draws against KCCA, Express and Mbale Heroes.
