Masaza Cup Second Round Action on This Weekend As Counties Aim To Twaake

The 2023 Kansai Plascon paint-powered Masaza Cup first round of group stages came to an end on Tuesday, 1st August 2023.

Buddu, Mawogola, and Ssingo topped their respective groups after the first round of matches.

Buddu finished top of the Bulange group with 10 points, two points ahead of second-placed Buvuma.

Mawogola finished top of the Muganzirwaza group with 8 points, level on points with Mawokota, Gomba, and Ssese.

Ssingo finished top of the Masengere group with 9 points, level on points with second-placed Buweekula.

Weekend Results and Goal scorers

A total of eight games were played over the course of the weekend at various sports grounds producing four victories and as many draws.

Ssingo vs Bulemeezi

Fast forward, to this Tuesday, Ssingo climaxed the matchday five and the first round of group stages as well with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bulemeezi.

Elvis Ssekajugo and Eria Kiyemba scored the two vital goals to see their side climb to the top of the table in the Bulange group.

The second round of the 2023 Masaza Cup group stages will return this weekend with games lined up on Saturday and Sunday.

Busiro are the defending champions having defeated Buddu 2-1 in Wankulukuku last year to win their maiden title.
