The She Cranes, Uganda’s national women’s netball team, outshined and outwitted Wales to a comfortable 73-56 win in the second game of the preliminary stage two on Wednesday.
Pumped by the Plascon Twaake energy, the She Cranes were ruthless from the opening minute, taking quarter one 15-12.
For starters, Plascon is the official sponsor for the She Cranes at the ongoing showpiece.
In the second quarter, with the Ugandan fans showing their true Twaake colours, the She Cranes extended their lead to a nine-point difference, as they led 36-27.
Wales were even painted further in the third quarter as Fred Mugerwa‘s side pushed the lead to 17 points finishing 58-41, before they eventually won it 73-56.
There were impressive perfomances from all over the park with Mary Nuba Cholhok putting up 42 goals in 44 attempts, despite playing just three quarters.
Shadiah Nassanga ended the game with 12 points and as many assists while Margaret Baagala managed 23 assists.
Uganda will need to defeat South Africa on Thursday to seal the third place, that will book them a ticket with the fourth placed team in Group E, which they must overcome to play for positions five and six.
