Makerere University Business School (MUBS) coach William Kasozi has urged his players to maintain their winning mentality as they host Victoria University in the University Football League on Tuesday.

MUBS have won all three of their Group B matches so far and are top of the standings with nine points. A win against Victoria University would guarantee them a place in the quarterfinals.

“It’s a vital game and really important in terms of getting out of the group,” Kasozi said. “The three points against Victoria University are key for our objective.”

“This is the University Football League, where the strong and prepared teams thrive,” Kasozi added.

“We are focused on Tuesday’s game because it will not be easy. Victoria University is a dynamic side, strong, and I think they can cause us problems. We can’t lose our focus.”

MUBS had to come from a goal down to beat Victoria University in the first leg, scoring three goals in four minutes to win 3-1.

Victoria University coach Emmanuel Amangu has cautioned his players that they need to be prepared for a tough challenge.

“The defeat against MUBS last week was a difficult one to take,” Amangu said.

“The performance was there, the intensity, and the aggression. It took a little bit of quality to beat us, that was the difference.”

“We need to apply pressure as early as possible and that’s how we can at least achieve something out of the game,” Amangu added. “We shall roar again and see how things work out today.”
