BIIK Shymkent forward Fauzia Najjemba jetted in the country and immediately commenced training as Uganda’s National Women Football team intensified training ahead of the Women Africa Cup of Nations.

The 19 year old arrived on Tuesday with USA based Tracy Jones Akiror and Yudaya Nakayenze who play for AFC Ann Arbor and Lindsey Wilson College respectively.

Their absence was not missed as the trio did not feature in the recently concluded CECAFA Championship which was clinched by Uganda.

Vanessa Edith Karungi, who plays at Denmark side Boldklubben AF 1893 is the other foreign-based player that joined the Cranes camp.

On the other hand, six players from the team that won the CECAFA have been dropped by head coach George Lutalo.

Kampala Queens’ Resty Nanziri, Uganda Martyrs’ Halima Kayondo, Kawempe Muslim’s Juliet Adeke, She Mak’s Viola Namuddu, and She Corporate’s duo of Naome Nagadya and Miriam Ibunyu are the axed players.

George Lutalo’s charges continue preparations for the continental tournament that kicks off on Saturday, July 2 to Saturday, July 22 in Morocco.

Uganda is in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Senegal.
