National Pool Open: Upcountry qualifiers enter final bend

The ongoing National Pool Open regional qualifiers are getting hot with seasoned players joining the race to the finals.

In Soroti City, last weekend’s Nature Gardens action was postponed to this weekend despite attracting senior players.

Dr Epodoi, Okidi Caesar, and 2017 regional qualifier Tom Ebulu will be among the participants at the said venue this Saturday.

Sam Ocen, with his belief that cowards live longer, will proceed to try and qualify from Moroto.

Here, David Oguli will be waiting for him and, should he qualify, he will have to return to Soroti for the regionals.

Further on the Eastern route, the picture of the road to the finals there’s action at Thatch Gardens tonight.

For some reason, the owner of The Oak Bar; which is the regional centre is opting to qualify from Thatch Gardens – Derrick Wekomba a.k.a Manager Derrick.

John Bosco Kibeti should be his toughest opponent at the venue while Club El-Tanjia and SinaMakosa bar will also have action this weekend.

Veteran DJ Eddy Ojakol will be the headliner at El-Tanjia while Andrew Balboa and Mbale Pool club captain Meddie Kaweesa are opting to qualify from SinaMakosa.

Fireworks in the North, West Nile

Los Angeles Bar and Dream Bar will be the focus of attraction in the Kitgum district, with other players trying to qualify from the Pader district.

Stiff competition is expected from Okello Jimmy, Kilama Bob, and Orach Alfred at Dreams as Ivan Ogenrwot will be the headliner in Los Angeles.

There will also be a wind-up of action in Gulu City, and Lira district both in the Northern part of the country.

Across River Nile to the West Nile region, Lira, Moyo, and Paidha districts will be in the know of their representatives at the finals this weekend.
