The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU), through its Competitions Committee, has issued a circular informing all club owners that the Committee will undertake venue inspections as part of preparations for the forthcoming PAU National League.
The exercise aims to assess the standard, suitability, readiness, safety, and operational capacity of venues to host official PAU National League matches.
Following the inspections, the Competitions Committee will select between four and eight venues from the existing pool of PAU-licensed facilities to host Men’s National League matches.
The inspection team will assess each venue against the following key requirements; valid PAU registration, designated home-venue status, and formal consent from the venue owner or manager.
Ease of access, adequate parking, security, and safe entry for players, officials, and spectators, not forgetting the capacity to accommodate media coverage, and live-streaming operations, along with clean, functional toilets and a reliable water supply.
Signed by PAU General Secretary Rogers Ssemanda, the circular states that the Competitions Committee will conduct inspections over three days, running from today through Sunday.
The association highlighted that the inspections will serve as both a compliance assessment and a selection process. Meeting the minimum requirements will not automatically guarantee selection as an official National League venue.
If more than eight venues meet the standards, the Committee will prioritize those demonstrating the highest overall standards, accessibility, safety, and operational readiness.
