NBL finally tips off, City Oilers show off in opener against KIU Titans

The National Basketball League tipped off at last on Sunday with three games in the men’s league with the one featuring City Oilers as the icing on the cake.

Out of the three fixtures played at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, the above-mentioned one was the only straight forward one as it witnessed a double-figure points margin.

Defending champions Oilers shut down KIU Titans in a 51-79 score to send a strong warning to the rest of the teams in the league.

Before the final game of the day, former champions Power fought tooth and nail to defeat a spirited RezLife Saints 83-81 thanks to a good final push.

It was the same script for the Ndejje Angels game up against KCCA Panthers as the University side won 71-69 in a tight contest.

Action returns on Wednesday (today) with Mukono-based side UCU Canons entertaining Ndejje Angels at 8: 30 pm at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
