KIU Rangers were at their ruthless best as they made light work of Angels, trumping them 81-57 in their opening game of the 2023 National Basketball League campaign.
The Kansanga Ladies quickly made their intentions clear on the evening at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday, leading 26-15 in the opening quarter and 47-26 by halftime.
Mary Amaniyo, who had eight points by the end of the opening half, led the scoring board with 16 on the evening.
Meanwhile, Sharon Kirabo and Diana Letaru added 12 points apiece for the Rangers in a superb team effort.
New signing Rachel Nanyonga, who joined from Magic Stormers before the start of the season, put up a decent debut performance, managing 11 points.
On the other hand, the Angels had Catherine Amusugut and Elizabeth as their most potent players, scoring 15 and 10 points respectively.
