In their first full top-flight season, Namuwongo Blazers hit the National Basketball League final after a dominant 3-1 series victory over KIU Titans.
Head Coach Stephen Nyeko‘s charges beat the Titans 75-61 in Game Four on Sunday at the YMCA court in Wandegeya.
On Sunday, KIU led 13-10 but, the Nam Blazers later went ahead to emerge halftime victors with a 36-20 lead.
This was a lot damage to the Titans and despite them winning the remaining quarters, the effort was not quite enough to avoid defeat.
For the victors, Arial Okall (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Daniel Monoja (13 points, 11 rebounds), both had double doubles on the evening.
The Namuwongo side were promoted in 2019 but did not play in 2020 due to the Covid-19 surge. In 2021, the League was interrupted and later cancelled.
They will now face one of UCU Canons or City Oilers. The latter hold a 2-1 series lead.
