NBL: Power edge KCCA Panthers in thriller

Power needed overtime to nick an 84-80 victory over KCCA Panthers in a pulsating National Basketball League game on Wednesday at Lugogo.

While Power looked destined for a relatively comfortable win as they led by a nine-point difference in the fourth quarter, the Panthers bounced back to tie the affair.

The latter fought, with Martin Buluma laying up with about five seconds on the clock to tie the game 74-74.

Power then found their touch back as they opened an 8-0 run during overtime, and KCCA never fully found its way back this time around.

Isaac Afidra led the way for Power, scoring an impressive 21 points and 14 rebounds, to complete a double-double.

Meanwhile, Samad Imran (16), Mobanza (14), Elvis Sentongo (13), and Stephen Otoa (12) also reached double figures.

Apart from Buluma, who scored a game-high 26 points, no KCCA Panthers player got into double figures.

The victory made it four for Power in 10 games this season, having beaten Rezlife Saints, Ndejje University Angels, and JKL Dolphins earlier.

On the other hand, it was the sixth defeat for KCCA Panthers in 10 games.
