NBL Women Playoffs: UCU Lady Canons eying sweep over KIU Rangers

UCU Lady Canons braved the absolutely ugly and chilly weather conditions on Wednesday, to beat KIU Rangers 85-76, to set a foot in the final of the National Basketball League.

The win at the YMCA court implies UCU hold a 2-0 lead in the Best of Five series, and will storm the final with one more victory.

Rose Akon was virtually unplayable as she posted a double double of 17 points, 23 rebounds and one assist, claiming the Tusker Lite Player of the Game Award.

The other good performers for the victors were Maimuna Nabbosa with 23 points, three rebounds and five assists.

On the other hand, for the KIU Rangers, Ines Kanyamunza put up 19 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Peruth Nyamwenge managed 18 points, seven rebounds and one assist while Clarisse Ntumba shot 18 points, eight rebounds and one assist.

Florence Nanyonga who came off the bench had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, but, all this was quite not enough to help KIU avoid defeat.
