The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has confirmed the new dates and format for the 2023/24 FUFA Women Elite League.
The new season will start on October 22, 2023, and 13 teams have been confirmed to participate.
Unlike the previous season where teams played on a home-and-away basis in one group, this season teams have been divided into two groups and will play each other three times in their respective groups.

The teams have been grouped into two groups, Elizabeth and Victoria, according to their geographical location.

The league will be played in three rounds to increase the number of games.
The host teams in the third round will be determined by the team with the highest points or goals in the first and second rounds.
The leader of each group will be directly promoted to the FUFA Women Super League in the next season, and they will play each other to determine the winner of the FUFA Women Elite League.

Last season, She Maroons FC won the league and Wakiso Hill Women FC finished second, both teams gaining promotion to the FUFA Women Super League.
Meanwhile, the 2021/22 FUFA Women Super League champions She Corporate FC and Olila HS Women FC were relegated to the FUFA Women Elite League.
