The FUFA Women Elite League 2022/23 season will climax today.

She Maroons are already the champions and they will be crowned today at their home ground in Luzira as they take on Gyco Girls.

The interesting part of the league’s climax will be the fight for FUFA Women Super League promotion between Wakiso Hills WFC and Tooro Queens.

Second-placed Wakiso Hills WFC are one point above the third-placed Tooro Queens, and the team that will finish second will join champions She Maroons to the FUFA Women’s Super League.

It will be no room for error for Wakiso Hills WFC to gain promotion as they visit tricky Isra Academy WFC at Highland SS Grounds at 4pm.

In the first leg, Isra Academy WFC defeated Wakiso Hills WFC 2-1 at their home.

Wakiso Hills WFC will have to fight till to the final whistle to win the game if they’re to gain Super League promotion.

Tooro Queens will be with the advantage as they play their last game at home against Goldstar HS Ladies in Buhinga at 4pm.

The Ayesigye Rogers-coached side lost 2-1 to Goldstar HS Ladies in their first meeting.

A win for Swalleh Kamya-coached side Wakiso Hills WFC will automatically seal their promotion to Super League Football for the first time in their history.

Tooro Queens will have to win and play a prayer role for Wakiso Hills WFC to drop points for them to gain promotion back to Super League after being Relegated in the previous season.

However, in case Wakiso Hills WFC loses with a margin of one goal and Tooro Queens share spoils with Goldstar, both Tooro Queens and Wakiso Hills WFC will be at the same points (34) and same goal difference (10).

And the promotion will be determined on goals scored, and Tooro Queens have scored five more than Wakiso Hills WFC.

Meanwhile, She Maroons striker Lillian Kasubo is the leading goal scorer with 24 goals followed by Tooro Queens forward Mary Kabaculezi who has 11 goals.

Acholi Queens and Luweero Giant Queens are the two confirmed relegated teams to FUFA Women Regional League.
