On their maiden appearance in the National Basketball League, JT Lady Jaguars didn’t need to break a sweat as they made easy work of Nkumba Lady Marines, beating them 75-24 on Saturday.
In a dominant display for the newcomers, JT limited their opponents to less than double figures for each of the four quarters, eventually winning by a 51-point difference.
While every JT Jaguar player bar Patricia Alado was on the score sheet, it’s Sarah Ageno that stole the show with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Zainah Lokwameri added a decent 10 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, to sink the perennial strugglers, who are only playing in the topflight this season because of a boardroom decision.
It should be noted that Nkumba, along with A1 Challenge had been relegated, but were recalled back to the NBL.
In a losing effort or lack of it, Melissa Kyazze and Catherine Nakimuli were Nkumba’s most potent players with nine and six points respectively.
Well, the above result was a reflection of the first game of the day which had UCU Lady Canons thump Kampala University Ladies 76-24 at the YMCA basketball court, Wandegeya.
Aziida Nabayunga posted 13 points and 18 rebounds and was rewarded as the best player of the game thanks to her inside-the-paint dominance.
