Ntare Lions League 2023-24: Season Kicks Off in Kampala, Finale in Kigali

Following a successful 13th season finale hosted by Jinja City, Ntare Lions League will hold this season’s climax across borders.

The 14th season, which kicks off this Sunday at Kampala Quality Sports Complex will have its finale hosted by Kigali City, Rwanda.

“Season 14 will run for 18 weeks with the finale held at Ntare School in Kigali, Rwanda on 23rd March 2024,” Aaron Aroriza, the president Ntare Lions League noted.

Defending champions SC Kalele who defeated arch-rivals, TY Omujuma 1-0 in a tense final played at Pitstop Arena in Jinja will be the team to beat.

The Ntare League is Uganda’s premier Sunday soccer league that brings together teams from Ntare School’s 60-plus-year-old heritage.

Ntare Lions League Format of play

Different teams face off once through the regular season and cap it off with a final played between the top two placed teams.

Placement games are also held before the final to get everyone involved in the final match day activities.

Teams field 10 players at a time, but do have unlimited substitutions, and each game is 70 minutes long.

  • FC Abashweki, Bonshe FC, Ebicuncu FC, FC Kabali, Kachanchali, Kafubs, Kashoro FC, SC Kalele, Machando FC, FC Mugudu, Nshera FC, SC Jabulani, TY Omujuma, Nturi FC, Kasasi FC, Kisyanga FC, SC Ensayi, Kajogo FC, Shimba FC, Enshaka FC and Bweras FC.
