Ogena, Bagalana, and Kirabo star for African Scorpions in Zanzibar

Pius Ogena, Bagalana Tawfiq, and Ivan Kirabo were all on the scoresheet as the African Scorpions RFC defeated Bryncethin RCF 38-05 in Zanzibar.

Ogena, a utility player for the super decorated KOBs Rugby Football Club in Uganda, continued his 2023 wonderful form in style.

The Uganda Premier League top scorer with 22 tries crossed the whitewash twice to register two tries on the day.

Jinja Hippos stalwart Bagalana was also on the try scorer’s list, as the Center collected one for himself.

Of the 6 tries scored on the day, Kirabo of the Rhinos was able to convert four times, registering a 67% kick success percentage.

The African Scorpions RFC squad saw 11 clubs come together, with 3 (KOBs, Rhinos, and Hippos) coming from Uganda.

The other 8 were Tanga Titans RFC, Duma RFC, Rugby Club, L’Isle Adam, USRO-Rugby, KCB Rugby Club, Catholic Monks Rugby, Jambiani Jackals, and Ukonga Rugby.
