When you hear Tumwebaze Odeon, think less “pedal to the metal” and more “zen master with a racing helmet.” A man of cool composure and smooth lines on and off the track, Odeon is that rare breed of rally driver who’s here for the love of the sport, not the drama. While others might be sweating it out over split seconds, Odeon is probably adjusting his side mirrors and enjoying the scenery (at 160 km/h, of course).
Before jumping into the cockpit, Odeon was behind the scenes, managing the legendary Desh Rally Team, where he sharpened his motorsport wits and likely learned how to change a tyre faster than most people can find a spanner.
Now, having traded the clipboard for a roll cage, Odeon is finally taking his rightful place on the competitive stages with his Toyota Alteza, a rear-wheel-drive beast that seems to come with built-in drifting software. The car might go sideways, but Odeon stays straight-faced through it all.
Alongside him is Hussein Mukuye, his co-driver and professional peace negotiator during tight corners. Together, they’re bringing flair, fun, and some high-quality sideways action to the CRC category this season.
Their NRC1 round may not have gone to plan but the Pearl Rally is their comeback tour powered by Pearl Mustangs, Tumwebaze Investments Ltd, and enough optimism to restart a dead battery.
Watch out: if you see a pink-yellow Alteza pirouetting around a bend with two calm faces inside, no panic, it’s just Odeon doing what he loves most… stylishly.
