The Uganda Rugby Cranes 7s are in Dubai to commence their World Rugby 7s Challenger Series journey this weekend.
The team welcomed back Desire Ayera from injury, skipper Ian Munyani and speedster Denis Etwau for auxiliary commitments in readiness for this weekend.
“I am hyped for my return. I have loved Dubai since my first time here. Coming back from injury is always tough, but I am glad I will have a team of 11 around me, to push me on,” said a buoyant Desire Ayera in an interview with Kawowo Sports scribe Ernest Akorebirungi.
The 2024 edition of the Challenger competition kicks off with combined events at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai on 12-14 January, followed by Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 8-10 March before standalone women’s and men’s events at Henryk Reyman’s Municipal Stadium in Krakow, Poland and Dantestadion in Munich, Germany respectively on 18-19 May.
