Engines roared and crowds buzzed as the 4th Kampala Auto Show took over Kololo Independence Grounds from July 12–13.

Among the standout brands, Plascon Uganda stole the show with its bold display of cutting-edge automotive paint solutions, reaffirming its place in Uganda’s growing auto and motorsport scene.

The event drew over 5,000 car lovers, families, motorsport fans, and industry players, cementing its status as the country’s top automotive gathering.

“We’re proud to be part of this celebration of innovation and motion,” said Benjamin Bicung, Plascon Uganda’s Marketing Coordinator.

“Our products are made to withstand Uganda’s climate while delivering both beauty and durability.”

At the center of Plascon’s exhibit was Plascon Plascryl, a high-gloss, fast-drying, weather-resistant enamel designed for tropical climates.

Its appeal to car refinishing experts and motorsport teams alike was clear.

Other featured products included:
• Plascryl Thinner, for improved flow and spray application
• Plascon Fast Dry, a versatile enamel for cars, wood, or metal
• Nitrocellulose Paint, a quick-drying lacquer perfect for refinishing and furniture
• Lightweight Body Filler, a smooth, easy-to-sand solution for precision repair

Plascon’s presence went beyond product promotion, it reflected a deep investment in Uganda’s growing automotive culture.

The show also delivered pure adrenaline with drifting stunts, MotoGP showcases, and rally demos, turning Kololo into a high-octane playground.

Motorsport stars like Eric “One Trouble” Nuwagaba of Tag Racing and drag racer West Da Industrialist hailed the event as a crucial platform for exposure and support.

“This show gives MotoGP riders like us the visibility we need,” said Nuwagaba.

“Motorsport is expensive, and events like this help connect us to potential sponsors.”

Rally driver Umar Dauda echoed the call for unity across motorsport disciplines;

“Our drifters and riders are our biggest fans. We need to show up for each other if we’re going to grow this sport.”
