Uganda Cricket male national team, Cricket Cranes had a slow start in the ongoing 50 overs ODI series as they went down to hosts Qatar in their opener.

With three more games on the card, there was no room for error and the team has so far picked two wins on the bounce and they are a win away from sealing a series victory.

Today Monday is a rest day before they return to action with hopes of emulating the brilliant display they put up in the third match which had a centurion in Kenneth Waiswa.

His 101 runs not out batting contribution yesterday saw Uganda put 292 runs on the scoreboard with opener Roger Mukasa also bagging a half-century (57 runs) to overpower Qatar.

After giving away too much on the ball, Qatar’s batting was equally poor as their team total was 154 runs, four short of Waiswa and Mukasa’s combined effort.

The hosts failed to find a way past the experienced spinners in lefty Henry Ssenyondo and Frank Nsubuga who picked three and two wickets respectively.

Uganda with a good net runs rate and mentally ready to sign off in style will be out tomorrow to secure a sounding series victory over Qatar.
