JKL Lady Dolphins star Brenda Ekone was crowned the finest sports personality for 2022 at the end of Year Fortebet Real Star Awards.
The basketball guard beat long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo and rally driver Ponsiano Lwakataka on Saturday at Garden City Rooftop, for the gong.
Ekone guided JKL to a runners-up finish in the National Basketball League, falling to UCU Lady Canons in the final game of the best of the seven series.
Despite failing to clinch the championship, Ekone put up consistent brilliant displays throughout the season, scoring 534 points with an average of 17.8
Ekone had also previously scooped two Real Star Monthly Awards in August and September.
Meanwhile, the best players from various disciplines for November were also named, including KCCA’s Sandra Nambirige for Netball.
Wakiso Giants’ Titus Ssematimba was named the best in football while Godfrey Nsubuga of Mehta Club was named the best golfer for the past 30 days.
Others include Titus Odeke Lual (basketball), Beth Nagadya (Ludo) and Lucy Akello (Hockey).
