- Rounders CC won by 51 Runs
Rounders Cricket Club made it two wins in a row with a 51-run victory over Avengers Cricket Club on Sunday in Jinja, moving up to 4th place in the UCA Men’s 50-Over Premiership League.
Batting first, Rounders were led by opener Steven Wabwose, who scored a steady 80 off 128 balls.
Despite losing wickets at the other end, late contributions from Oscar Mwanishimwe (47*) and Calvin Watuwa (39*) pushed Rounders to 236 for 4 in their 50 overs.
Avengers struggled to contain the scoring, especially in the final 10 overs, where they gave away 63 runs. Yashashvi Joshi (1/23 in 10 overs) was the most economical of the bowlers.
In response, Avengers lost early wickets and never fully recovered. Siraje Nsubuga led the attack with 3 for 34, while Tembo Zubair and Brian Masaba each took two.
Oloka Pius fought back with a well-made 88, but his dismissal in the 40th over ended any hope of a chase. Avengers were all out for 185 in 40.4 overs.
Wicketkeeper Oscar Mwanishimwe also contributed with three catches behind the stumps as Rounders wrapped up a solid team win.
Elsewhere, Ceylon Lions stayed top with a tight 9-run win over Tornado Bees, while in Division Two, Kutchi Tigers B beat Soroti City by 83 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method.
