Rujumba 7s: Clash Of Champions In Pool A, As KOBs Date Kings Park Deputies

The National 7s calendar will make its third stop with the Rujumba 7s this weekend in Bweyogerere at Kings Park Arena, home to the table-leading Black Pirates.

Stanbic Black Pirates, champions of the premiership, have been drawn in Pool A against Central Championship and Central 7s winners, Kitante Eagles.

The Eagles have the past weekend wrapped up the Central 7s Championship, adding it to their impressive haul of honours over the past 3 months.

2014 National 7s champions Buffaloes are the other team in the group alongside the reserve side of the Kampala Old Boys, Boks.

Talking Kampala Old Boys (KOBs), the reigning Rujumba 7s winners will come up against Bweyogerere deputies in Sailors in Pool C alongside the fire-breathing Mongers and Walukuba Barbarians.

Record winners, Heathens, will look to avoid a further slump when they line up against the stubborn Makerere sides in Impis and Rams.

This group D lineup is completed by an invitation side, the university side from MUBs.

Reigning National 7s champions, Jinja Hippos, are in Pool B, hoping to go through Rhinos, Kyambogo, and Warriors on their quest to stabilize their title defence.

For the third consecutive rugby weekend, the ladies will play alongside their male counterparts in a tightly contested championship.

The teams are separated by 9 points with; Black Pearls and Avengers at 39, Thunderbirds at 38, and the Nile Rapids at 30.

Men’s Pools for Rujumba 7s:

Pool A: Pirates, Buffaloes, Eagles, Boks.
Pool B: Hippos, Rhinos, Warriors, Kyambogo.
Pool C: Kobs, Walukuba, Mongers, Sailors.
Pool D: Heathens, Impis, Rams, MUBS.
Women’s Pools for Rujumba 7s:
Pool A: Black Pearls, Nile Rapids, Lady Cranes Probables.
Pool B: Thunderbirds, Avengers, Lady Cranes Possibles.
