After advancing out of the Group B with six points, Uganda’s She Corporate will lock horns with Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) in the semi-finals of CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.
To make it to the continent, where only one team will qualify from the region, the Ugandan champions will have to battle one of the best CECAFA sides, and head coach Charles Ayiekoh, fully understands the task at hand.
“They are not an easy side, extremely comfortable on the ball, score quite many with good players,” the tactician was quoted by football256.
“And, we will have to draw a big plan, and I know we can handle CBE. We have a good squad with some new faces that are already impressing.”
“The likes of Joan Ainembabazi, Spencer Nakacwa, Anita Namata, among others are new signings but doing well. I’m convinced this team is good enough to compete,” reiterated Ayiekoh.
The experienced gaffer also feels his side is one of the teams to beat in the ongoing tournament.
“I think this team is considered among the favorites to win this tournament because of the quality we have shown.”
They have so far picked two victories with just a single loss, scoring 14 times and conceding twice.
The Corporates opened the tournament with a 6-0 win over Yei Joint Stars, but suffered a 2-0 loss to Simba Queens in the second match, before trumping Garde Republicaine 8-0 on Saturday.
The other semifinal will have Tanzania’s heavyweights, Simba Queens take on Rwandan side AS Kigali, who finished second in Group A.
