Soltilo Bright Stars, a Startimes Uganda Premier League team, has entered into partnership with Goldstar Ladies FC ahead of newly promoted NEC FC.
NEC had reached a verbal agreement with the women’s football club on Wednesday morning but in the afternoon of the same day Bright Stars moved swiftly and completed the necessary paperwork with GoldStar.
NEC FC had previously negotiated with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC but also failed to seal the deal.
This year, CAF made it mandatory for all clubs competing in their engagements to have a women’s club.
FUFA followed suit, making the same decision for all 16 Startimes Uganda Premier League clubs.
Vipers SC, the defending champions of the Startimes Uganda Premier League, have partnered with newly promoted side Wakiso Hills WFC.
KCCA FC has partnered with Kampala Queens FC, the defending champions of the FUFA Women Super League.
SC Villa, the record winners of the Uganda Premier League, has partnered with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC, the holders of the FUFA Women’s Cup and a Super League team.
