KIU Titans needed to be at their near-best to topple a character-filled Our Saviour 72-62 at the YMCA Court on Saturday in the Men’s National Basketball League.
It was a second victory in succession for the Kansanga based team, having beaten Rezlife Saints in their past encounter.
Our Saviour finished with a strong 15-0 but had unfortunately succumbed 47-33 at halftime, a gap that proved impossible to catch.
Isaiah Mabeny led the way for the victors with 5-for-9 from three to notch 17 points for KIU Titans.
He was complemented by Amisi Saidi who had a double double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
On the other hand, Kenneth Mesho, Moses Mugisha and Dier Malual led the way from Our Saviour with 17, 14 and 12 points respectively.
Despite a decent display though, the trio couldn’t steer Saviour to victory past a Titans team, who are considered as one of the favorites for glory this season.
