The Tanzania U-18 Women National team defeated Ethiopia 2-0 in their second game of the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship at Azam Complex on Thursday.

Noela Luhala Patrick and Aisha Mnuka Juma scored a goal each to give Tanzania their second win of the tournament.

Luhala opened the scoring in the 14th minute, while Juma doubled the lead in the 76th minute.

The win takes Tanzania to the top of the table, level on points with Uganda but with a better goal difference.

Uganda had earlier defeated Zanzibar 3-0, thanks to Brenda Munyana, Agnes Nabukenya and Phionah Nabulime‘s second half goals.

Tanzania will next face Zanzibar on Sunday, while Uganda will play Burundi on Monday.

The final round of matches will be played on August 3, when Tanzania and Uganda will face each other in a match that could decide the winner of the tournament.
