UCU Canons picked their second victory of the 2023 National Basketball League season after defeating JKL Dolphins 57-41 at the MTN Arena, Lugogo on Wednesday.
The Mukono-based outfit made an impressive start to the game, taking the opening quarter with a dominant 16-05 lead.
Their opponents however fought back and cut the gap to just three points at the end of the first half, with UCU leading 31-28.
UCU had Ibanda Lwabaga to thank as he managed 14 points on the evening. His tally was supplemented by Kevin Kashobya‘s 13 points in a winning effort.
Following the second victory in five matches for UCU, they now lie eighth with seven points
On the other hand, the Dolphins had Denis Tom Omara leading their scoring charts with 12 points, with Derrick Katumba adding 18 rebounds.
The Dolphins have now lost four of their five games this season and now sit 10th on the 12-team table with just six points.
