Uganda bags 28 gold medals at CANA Zone 3 Championship

Uganda swimming national team had a happy hunting ground down in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at the CANA Zone 3 Championship over the weekend.

The team touched down at Entebbe International Airport with a whopping 80 medals; 28 gold, 23 silver and 29 bronze medals from both individual and team effort.

14-year-old female swimmer Tara Kisawuzi led the gold chase with eight on her back out of the 28 Uganda claimed.

The other Ugandan gold medallists were; Zara Mbaga, John Kafumbe, Charlotte Sanford, Donald Rukare, Henry Kakooza, Alex Kateeba, Ezra Kalali and Nana Nakiddu.

It is the above mentioned performance that saw Uganda claim a podium position as they finished third out of ten countries thanks to the 2521.50 accumulated points.

Tanzania won the championship with 3061 points followed by Kenya who is now a suspended member on 2768 points.
