After a tough 3-0 loss to Algeria in their opening Group C match at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the Uganda Cranes returned to training on Tuesday with a recovery session at the FIFA funded FUFA-Kadiba Stadium.

The light session focused on helping players recover and refocus ahead of Friday’s crucial clash with Guinea.

Head coach Morley Byekwaso and his assistant Fred Muhumuza face mounting pressure to bounce back. The Algeria defeat exposed key weaknesses, and changes are expected in the starting lineup.

“We played a team that’s better than us in almost every aspect,” Byekwaso admitted after the match. “But we hope to regroup and come back strong on Friday and win the rest of our games.”

Uganda is in a tough Group C alongside Algeria, Guinea, Niger, and South Africa.
