The men will play the last round of group matches this weekend according to the revised Uganda Cup format, with knockout slots on the line.
Defending Champions, Platinum Credit Heathens, in Pool A, will be at the Graveyard in the Rams house for a battle of the undefeated.
Rams shocked the world last weekend when they defeated the Barbarians away to get themselves into the knockouts with a game to spare.
It is a three-horse race in Pool B, with Kampani’s Eagles, Stanbic Black Pirates and Toyota Buffaloes all hoping to make the cut at the end of the weekend.
Buffaloes sit atop the Pool and will host their game against the 2022 Runners-up Pirates at Namilyango College.
The Elgon Wolves stand between the Eagles and a knockout spot in a game that looks hotly contested at Kitante Primary School in Kampala.
In Pool C, the Plascon Mongers are already through to the knockout but are reeling for the challenge against last year’s bronze winners, KCB KOBs.
It is set to be a massive weekend for the Blue Army, who need the Warriors to beat Njeru Hurricanes to make this a two-team fight for the top. A bonus point for KOBs will see them top the group.
The Makerere Impis are through to the knockouts from Pool D, but their opponents this weekend, the Rhinos, need the win to throw Hippos out of contentions.
On the other hand, the Hippos are travelling to Lira for a gruelling battle with the Bulls and hoping the Rhinos don’t master a result against the table-leading Impis.
The women’s Uganda Cup games enter the second weekend with titanic battles as Black Pearls host the Thunderbirds at Kings Park and the Ewes play the Panthers at Makerere.
Defending Champions Avengers travel to Kabale to play the Berg Princesses as Nile Rapids host the Gulu Sprinters at the Dam Waters.
